Biography

Dr. Safar Ali Safavi is currently working as Research Specialist, Ministry of Jehad-e-Agriculture, Agricultural Research Center and Natural Resources of Ardabil, Research Department of Seed and Plant Improvement. He has completed his Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from Tabriz University, Tabriz, Iran. He is having 7 years experience in field of Cereal Diseases Research and Cooperation with Extension Department of Ministry of Jehad-e-Agriculture (crop protection) for Cereal Diseases Control. Besides, he has worked on Fungi Systematic (Coelomycetidae) for a short time. He has also passed advanced courses in Wheat Improvement and Pathology in CIMMYT. He has completed 14 research projects. His area of research interest focuses on study on Races and Virulence factors of Barley Yellow Rust, Epidemiology of Yellow Rust Diseases in Cereal, Forecasting for Cereal Diseases (rusts, wheat scab and other diseases), study on resistance of Wheat and Barley to different Diseases, study on Resistance Mechanisms to Cereal Diseases. He has published 18 research articles in journals, 23 conference papers, and 11 research project report contributed as author/co-author.
