Dr. Janak R. Khatiwada is working as Senior Research Scientist at Center for Excellence in Post-Harvest Technologies, The North Carolina Research Campus, UNC Nutrition Research Building. His area of research expertise are extraction, purification and characterization of various phytochemicals from fruits, vegetables and herb and their health benefits, determination of cytotoxicity effects of various phytochemicals in vivo and in vitro methods, bioavailability and biotransformation studies of phytochemicals in vivo and in vitro, development of new chemo preventive agents from dietary sources using in vitro and in vivo models and utilization of prebiotics in hygienic broiler production in commercial scale. He is serving as technical editor and reviewer for many journals. Dr. Janak published 17 research articles as author /co-author. He also published and presented more than 60 abstracts at conferences. He is also a member of many professional societies.
