Professional Summary

Dr. Chand Pasha is involved in protein engineering in UGC, DST, TIFAC and DBT projects. Constructed in-house vector for yeast surface display of proteins. Three cellulases (endocellulase, Cellobiohydrolase. Beta-glucosidase) were engineered & cloned in a developed vector under Gal promoter and the maximum surface display was achieved.

Completed Ph.D. in the area of Yeast molecular biology. During this period evaluated the molecular mechanism of thermal stress tolerance, developed high cellulase-producing fungal strain, and pentose utilizing fusant yeast strain for ethanol production also developed a economically viable laboratory process for ethanol production. At Nizam College organized one day conference on “Recent Trends in Applied Microbiology” on 27th October 2007 and initiated “Louis Pasteur Microbiology Research Award” to encourage young students to select research as career. His areas of research include genetic and protein engineering, yeast surface display for therapeutic proteins and bioethanol production. Current work include biofuels using lignocellulosics, therapeutic peptides for skin whitening, Analgesic, Contraceptive, anti aging and antimicrobial small peptides. He has undergone training in IPR, Bioinformatics and Multimedia.

He is a Life member of Indian Science Congress Association, Association of Microbiologists of India and Biotech Research Society of India. Now he is the elected Treasurer of Association of Microbiologists of India, Hyderabad Unit. Working as editor to Inter Journal Medicine and Medical Sciences, Research in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (RPB), Journal of Medicinal Plants Research, Journal of Food and African Journa1 of Biotechnology.
