Biography

Dr. Goksel N. Demirer is Professor in the Department of Environmental Engineering at Middle East Technical University, Turkey. His areas of interests include topics such as Anaerobic Environmental Biotechnology, Wastewater Engineering, Sustainability, Cleaner Production/Pollution Prevention, Industrial Symbiosis, Environmental Management, Natural Treatment Systems, Bioenergy and Biobased Products. He has studied at the Universities of Vanderbilt University (PhD in Environmental Engineering Department) and Middle East Technical University (M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering). He is the author of 87 peer-reviewed journal articles, 138 conference proceeding articles, a published book and book chapter in Turkish. Previously he was appointed at Tuzla University and Washington State University as Visiting Professor, Trier University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and Akdeniz University (Turkey) as Lecturer. He also conducted 26 national and international projects as primary investigator and co-primary investigator. He successfully completed 26 MSc and PhD thesis.
