Biography

Dr. Fakhrul Islam Monshi is currently working as Assistant Professor in Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding Faculty of Agriculture, Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh. He obtained his PhD degree from Kyoto University, Japan. He has completed his M.Sc./M.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh. Previously he was appointed as Research Fellow at Plant Breeding Division, Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA), Bangladesh. His main area of interest focuses on mutational and molecular marker assisted selection program for variety development, Plant cell, tissue and organ culture for crop improvement and production, and Exploring heavy metal and acid tolerance mechanisms in plant. He has supervised 3 MSc thesis. He has completed 3 research projects as principal investigator and co-investigator. He is author and co-author of 18 journals articles.
