Biography

Mr. Ravinesh Ram is PhD student at James Cook University, Townsville, Australia. He has completed his MSc in Marine Science from University of the South Pacific, Laucala Bay, Suva, Fiji Islands. Previously he was appointed as Teaching Assistant with the College of Foundation Studies, University of the South Pacific, Laucala Campus and Subject Coordinator for Biology in CFS for semester 2, and Quality Assurance Officer at Coca-Cola Amatil Fiji Ltd. He has published 5 abstracts and research papers in journals. His main area of research interest focuses on methods of Microbiological Analysis of Food, Analysis of total heterotrophic and coliform bacteria in food, food security and toxication, HACCP in the food industry and advancing the processing techniques Medicinal properties of natural substances found in marine environments further research in human nutrition (antioxidants, RDA, RDI, Diet) advances in microbiology and biotechnology, and quality development of seafoods in Fiji Islands Sustainable management of sea cucumber in Fiji Islands Mariculture of holothurians in Fiji Islands.
