Biography

Endang Sutriswati Rahayu has become professor in food microbiology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) since 2006. She was graduated from UGM for bachelor in agricultural technology (1979) and master degree in food science and technology (1985). She was also graduated from Tokyo University, Japan in Agrochemistry (1991). Her scientific research interest are about indigenous probiotic, Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB), and gut microbiota. Many potencial probiotic and LAB has succesfully gained and its health effect has been revealed through her research. Because of her capabilities in exploring probiotic, LAB, gut microbiota and their benefit, many research collaboration about probiotic, LAB, and gut microbiota are conducted and includes her in research team such as research collaboration between Ministry of Research and Technology, UGM, Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI) and Universitas Udayana (2015-2017), with Asian Federation of Societies for Lactic Acid Bacteria (AFSLAB) from 2014-now, between Ministry of Research and Technology and PT Yummy Food Utama (2013-2014), with NITE NRBC (2012), with Yakult Hosha Japan (2012). In 2014, UGM give her award as Top Researcher on Collaborative Research Categories in 65th Dies Natalis UGM. She also have invited as speaker or paper presenter in national and international conference for many times. Her goal are to reveal more functional benefit from LAB she has got and to apply her research result in food and health field.
