Biography

Benso has graduated from Faculty of Dentistry, University of Indonesia BDS (2007), DDS (2009) and Post Graduated Program in Periodontology (2014) with the “Cum laude” honors. Currently, he is lecturer in Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Indonesia.

He is actively publishing and presenting about periodontology. Some of them are:
“Oral Health during Pregnancy and Early Childhood”, “Non-Invasive Management of Hopeless Tooth (Periodontics-Endodontic Approach): A Case Report” presented in FDI Bangkok Thailand, 2015, “The Beta Defensin-1, IL-4, IL-1 alpha level in smoker with Periodontitis” and many others. One of his research has been presented orally at the 29th Annual Scientific Meeting of the International Association of the Dental Research Southeast Asian Division (IADR-SEA) with the title “Serum CRP or CRP Gene (-717C>T) Polymorphism not associated with Periodontitis”.
Recently, one of his scientific research has been accepted at Global Journal of Dentistry and Oral Hygiene titled “Frenectomy with Blade vs Laser (Nd-YAG): a Case Report” in 2015 as well.

Regarding to research experiences, he involved in collaborative research by Dr. Lisa Amir about Periodontal Tissue Regeneration. He is also involve in the other collaborative research by Dr. Yulianti Kemal about periodontal and systemic disease.

His oral presentation about “Identifying Aggressive Periodontitis Cases: Case Report” selected to be one of the finalists of Pepsodent Scientific Award – Dentist category at KPPIKG 2016, Jakarta February 2016.

In 2016, he joined Summer-school program in Advanced Periodontology and Implantology in Heidelberg University, Germany.

Currently, he receive scholarship award by Japanese Government (MEXT) to continue his PhD in Niigata University, JAPAN.

Benso is focusing on periodontal medicine, periodontal regenerative, applied periodontal LASER, periodontal surgery and Implant therapy.
