Biography

Dr. Shahida Begum holds a position of Associate Professor at Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia. She is having 20 years of experience in teaching and research, research organization and different process industries. She successfully completed several research projects on Materials Development and Process Improvement and Optimization. She supervised one and co-supervised two Masters’ students. Presently she is supervising one PhD and two Masters students and co-supervising one Masters’ students. Her research area is related to Materials Development and Process Improvement. She also supervised more than forty undergraduate project students. She has completed her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Dublin City University, Ireland. She successfully completed the project of 3 million pound to improve the Energy Absorption capability of Zinch Oxide Varistor. She successfully managed a few projects where grants were obtained from Malaysian Government and university level. She is coordinating different subjects and final year projects at undergraduate level. She has managed an international conference on energy and environment (ICEE 2009). She is member of professional body of Bangladesh ceramic Society, and Engineers Institute Bangladesh. She has published 1 book chapter, 16 research articles in journals, and 26 conference proceeding contributed as author/co-author.
