Biography

Associate Professor Dr. Amirhossein Malakahmad is Deputy Head and MSc Environmental Engineering Program Manager at Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia. He has received his PhD in field of Solid Waste Management in 2006 and interviewed and pictured in Malaysian newspapers for his innovation approach to solve solid waste management issues in Malaysia. He has delivered several special lectures and keynotes in field of Solid Waste Management, Hazardous Waste Management, Environmental Engineering, and Air Pollution for government and private sectors in Malaysia and abroad. He has guided several undergraduate and postgraduate students and published/presented several original papers in international refereed journals and conferences in fields of Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development. He has secured various funds from public and private sectors for his research in area of solid waste management and industrial wastewater treatment. He is the instructor of Solid and Hazardous Waste Engineering course for undergraduate students in UTP since 2008. He developed many innovative approaches in his teaching including problem-based and CSR-based teachings. He has received numerous awards including best education delivery awards, best science and engineering design awards, invention, innovation & technology award, and publication awards from 2009 to 2015.
