Biography

Dr. Sentayehu Alamerew is currently working as Associate Professor in Genetics and Plant Breeding at Department of Horticulture and Plant Sciences, Jimma University College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Jimma, Ethiopia. He has completed his Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding from GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, India. He is having 21 years teaching and research experience. He also attended number of workshops and trainings. He also completed 14 research projects. She is member of JU research and publication senate standing committee and Editorial Board of Ethiopian Journal of Agriculture and Technology. He is professional member of Agronomy Society of Ethiopia, Crop Science Society of Ethiopia, Family Planning Society of Ethiopia, Genetics and Plant Breeding Society of G.B. Pant University, InWEnt alumni programmes Germany, and member of Germany educated Ethiopian Association (Alumuni). Dr. Sentayehu received honor includes Award of excellence in research and teaching at JUCAVM, Award of fund for PhD training in the abroad by MoE/ Part of World Bank project/, JUCAVM award for contribution for the university to become first ranked among the Ethiopian Universities in 2012, and Award of medalia of Jimma University Civil Servant Hero. He has published 24 research articles in peer review journals and 22 technical reports and proceeding contributed as author/co-author.
