Biography

Dr. Atnafua bekele gets her BSC, MSC and PhD degrees from Haremaya, Acharya (India) and Addis Ababa universities respectively. Currently, she is working at South Agricultural Research Institute as researcher in horticultural crops research improvement activities. She undergone different researches in this aspect and have more than ten scientific research papers published in reputed international journals concerning Quality Protein Maize (QPM) genetic improvement and improving production and, nutritional contents of crops. She wrote many budget seeking projects for national crops research capacity building programs and national research strategic documents to improve crops production and productivity. She is also one of the researchers awarded a Gold medal by the 8th National Ministry of Science and Technology Innovation Prize for her being a research team and contributing her outstanding problem solving research outputs.
