Professional Summary
I am a Lecturer in the Department of Horticultural Technology, Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo, Nigeria. My primary areas of specialization are Plant Science and Biotechnology, as well as Genetics and Plant Breeding. My academic and research career is dedicated to advancing crop production and crop improvement through the integration of genetics, seed technology, tissue culture, and micropropagation. My expertise spans a diverse range of plant systems, including arable and tree crops, medicinal plants, and biofuel species.
A significant portion of my work focuses on environmental sustainability, specifically in the areas of climate change resilience, desert revegetation, and nature conservation. I have a proven track record in agricultural project management, having led exotic seed adaptation trials and the establishment of Jumbo cashew variety plantation in Iwollo, Southeast Nigeria.
Beyond research, I contribute to national development as a Resource Person for the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) and the World Bank’s Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) programme, where I train youth and women in modern crop production and value chain.
I am an active member of the Crop Science Society of Nigeria (C.S.S.N), the Horticultural Society of Nigeria (HORTSON), the Botanical Society of Nigeria (BOSON), and Organic Agriculture Professionals in Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria (OAPTIN).
Through my published research findings and international journal reviews, I strive to advance sustainable farming practices, nature conservation, and global food security.
