Biography

Olufunmiso Olusola Olajuyigbe is an Associate Professor at the Department of Microbiology, School of Science and Technology, Babcock University, Ilisan-Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria. He has over 65 scientific papers and projects either presented or published and many under review in many journals. His research is focused on medicinal plants and their pharmacological importance to justify their ethnomedicinal uses, drug-drug interactions, drug-herbal interactions, pharmacological and toxicological activities of medicinal plants and currently investigating mechanisms of antimicrobial activities of medicinal plants for drug discovery. He was once the electronic editor of ActaSatech which is his University based journal. He is an author and a reviewer for many journals including BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Journal of Essential Oil Bearing Plants, BMC Pharmacology and Toxicology, South African Journal of Botany, to mention a few. Dr. Olajuyigbe has been recognized as a selected personality for Who’s Who in the World” in 2014 (31st Edition) and a selected personality for “Global expert for the Year” in Who’s Who 2015 Edition for Executives and Professionals in my area of specialization. He is currently investigating the phytochemistry, antioxidative, cytotoxicological and antimicrobial activities of some Nigerian medicinal plants used traditionally in the treatment of gastrointestinal infections in South Western Nigeria. Dr. Olajuyigbe holds a BSc. in Microbiology, MSc. in Pharmaceutical Microbiology and PhD. in Ethnobotany/Phytomedicine.
