Biography

Dr. Eric Cofie Timpong-Jones is a senior research fellow at the Livestock and Poultry Research Centre (LIPREC), University of Ghana.He hold a PhD in Animal Science with expertise in Pasture and Range management.Dr. Timpong-Jones is also affiliated to the Department of Animal Science, University of Ghana where he teaches and supervises both undergraduate and graduate students. His research interest include, Monitoring and evaluation of range resources, Harvest management of forage species to optimize biomass yield and quality,assessment of native browses, and climate change and livestock production.Dr. Timpong-Jones has been involved in several collaborative projects. Some recent international collaborations include the Agricultural Model Intercomparison and Improvement Project (AgMIP) -The future of food and farming in Sub-Saharan Africa, and the DST/NRF Collaborative Postgraduate training programme with a collaborator in University of Fort Hare, South Africa. He has conducted research in range management in three African countries viz, Ghana, Zimbabwe and South Africa, and has publications in refereed journals and edited conference proceedings.
