Dr. Mohamed Maher Saad Saleh belongs to National Research Center (NRC)- 1982 batch, under Academy of Scientific Research & Technology (Egypt). He is currently working as a Professor in Pomology (Fruit crops production), Pomology Department, National Research Center (NRC); Egypt. He had headed Pomology Department, NRC, during 2007 - 2010. Dr. Saleh holds Ph.D. degree in Pomology from Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University; Cairo, Egypt. The topic of his doctoral dissertation was “Effect of fertilization with different forms of nitrogen fertilizers on growth, flowering, mineral content and yield of banana”. His current research interest is to increase and improve fruit production especially in the new reclaimed lands (sandy soils), also minimizing the use of chemical fertilization as possible to produce clear and healthy fruits. Dr. Saleh’s published about 47 articles that have been appeared in several national and international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Saleh has supervised several Master and Doctor of fruit crops production thesis with an international supervision (through the scientific channel with TUM University, Germany). He has a membership of about 28 projects for developing fruit trees production since 1984 funded by National Research Center and Academy of Scientific Research & Technology, also teaches in program entitled “Preparation of professional quality control of fruits for export” normal and advanced levels for the graduated students and “The draft guidance in the expansion of agriculture and the improvement and development of nut trees in North and South Sinai governorates” for agriculture engineers. He has been instrumental in several organizing International/National Conferences, Workshops and Training programs. Dr. Saleh is associated to several professional bodies in the area of Agriculture. He is a member of editorial board of several international journals, reviewer for many journals and has reviewed many articles for national and internationals journals.
