Neeraj Kumar Sethiya

I am an Experienced Natural Product (Medicinal and Aromatic Plants) Academician and Scientist with 14 years of rich experience including teaching and research. Additionally, experienced professional for building an ecosystem towards innovation, startups and enterprenusihip development at organization level. Actively involved in Industry Academia collaborative Projects and IPR based Technology Commercialization or transfer. In brief having profound experience for documentation of various recognition process such as PCI, IIC, NAAC, NBA, NIRF and ARIIA. During my tenure as IIC convenor, we secured highest ranking (4 star for two consecutive year) for my organization. Additionally, as Nodal officer for ARIIA ranking applied first time able to secure as top band performer institution. The highlights of my contributions are outlined below in four major sections.

I have explicit experience of teaching of various modules for PhD, Masters and Bachelors students. I handled the subjects as module coordinator, recognized PhD guide, as well as been actively involved in curriculum review and curriculum design. I have experience of actively working in various institutional committees like Library committee, Examination, Scientific Research and Innovation development committee, Discipline and Purchase committee, etc. I am the recipient of several acclaimed awards, recognition and fellowships from both private and government organization. Additionally, I have also served as a representative for various National Level Government programme such DST-INSPIRE Manak, IGNITE and Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the house of Hon’ble President of the Republic of India (Rashtrapati Bhawan), Gujarat state representative for SPER, President at SPER Uttarakhand Chapter, Life member for various societies International and National such as ACS, ACSE, APTI, IPA, SPER, Society of Pharmacognosy, and MSU pharmacy Aluminee. Supporting Startup through mentorship at Startup India and Startup Uttarakhand platform. Further an expert speaker to speak about recent research trends on Natural Product Chemistry, Herbal Drug Development and Innovation, Startup and Enterprenusihip Ecosystem Development at various International and National Platform.

My research focus on target oriented and lead based design and development of New Chemical Entities (NCEs) of natural scaffolds against Anti-stress, Anxiolytic, Anti-arthritis, Cognition boosting, Antidiabetic, Antioxidant, Radical scavenging, Alzheimer’s, Antimalarial, Hepatoprotective, Antiurolithiatic and Herbal Cosmetics. Experience of handling research projects on medicinal plants for pharmacognostical investigation, general phytochemical analysis, spectrofluorimetric analysis, HPTLC and HPLC analysis, Isolation and Characterization of Steroids, Flavanoids, Alkaloids and Terpenoids. I have been publishing records of research/review articles, book chapter and books at every year since 2008 at various International and National agencies. Serving as Editor in Chief for Current Indian Science: Natural Product (Bentham Science) and Editorial Board member for several reputed international and national journals of high impacts. Additionally, successfully completed one industrial consultancy and one government funded project. One more industrial consultancy and one government project is currently in progress. My research goal is to expand the research program via extramural funding through project grant, consultancy or technology transfer or commercialization. Successfully able to bring approval of grant upto 2 crore Rs. for developing Incubation Center from Startup Uttarakhand.

I have industrial experience in the development of herbs-based nutraceutical formulation, which replaces antibiotics in veterinary segments with strong industry connects. Several Industry link up to work for consultancy based project. Completed few and few are ongoing as a consultant.
