Professional Summary
Dr. Mohd. Sayeed Akhtar is a senior assistant professor at Gandhi Faiz-e-Aam College, Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He received his PhD degree from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, India, in 2008, prior to conducting postdoctoral research at the Botanical Institute, University of Basel (BIB), Switzerland, and Chonbuk National University (CBNU), Republic of Korea. He was formerly an assistant professor at Jimma University and a fellow researcher at the Institute of Tropical Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). He has been listed among the top 2% of scientists in the world consecutively for the past several years, according to Stanford University in the United States. Dr. Akhtar is the author and co-author of more than 175 articles in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, as well as book chapters, and 36 edited books with international publishers. He has received numerous honors and awards, including Outstanding Researcher in Botany (2026); Outstanding Scientist in Plant Pathology (2017) by VIRA, Chennai, India; the Albert Nelson Marquis Award (2018) from the Marquis Who’s Who Society, USA; the Global Teachers Award (2018) by AKS Education Foundation, New Delhi, India; and the Teacher Innovation Award (2019 & 2022) from ZIIEI, Sri Arvindo Society, Puducherry, India. In addition to this, he is a member of the International Society for Development and Sustainability, Japan; a fellow of the Plantae Group of the American Society of Plant Biologists; and a member of the International Society of Environmental Relationship and Sustainability, Chennai, India, and the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-Biotech Application (ISAAA), Manila, Republic of the Philippines. He is serving the scientific community as an editorial board member and reviewer for several high-impact international journals. His current work focuses on the molecular biotechnology, bioremediation, biomineralization, nano-fertilizers, and nanobiotechnology of rhizospheric plant-microbe interactions.
