Professional Summary
Presently I am working as an Assistant Professor (Environmental Science) in the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir, besides being the Founder and President of Academy of EcoScience. I teach courses in Environmental Science and Disaster Management. I have a doctorate in Environmental Science from the University of Kashmir and my doctoral dissertation examines the fungal diversity in a freshwater ecosystem with special reference to pathogenic species. I have a strong interest in studying the pathogenic aspects of different types of microorganisms as my PhD focused on the same issue. Moreover, in the university I also dealt with the antimicrobial and anthelmintic activities of some endemic medicinal plants of Kashmir valley and other applied microbiology aspects. Besides this I have got a specialization in Vermicomposting as my M.Phil was focused on the same and Sediment Chemistry as I have done a dissertation work in my master on the sediment chemistry of Dal Lake.
I have published many research articles in reputed, referred international and national journals. I have presented a paper at an international conference hosted by Faculty of Medicine, Department of Indigenous medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and many other national conferences hosted by many other agencies of the state and country. I was also invited by China Medicinal Biotech Association to deliver a lecture in 2nd Annual Symposium of Antiparasites (SAP-2012), Guangzhou, China.
