Biography

Mr. Udya Kuwar Thapa is PhD student at University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, USA). He has completed his M.Sc. in Environmental Science from GoldenGate International College, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. He has published 7 research articles in journals. Currently he is working as Teaching Assistant at Department of Geography, Environment and Society, University of Minnesota. Previously he was appointed as Research Associate at Resources Himalaya Foundation, Kathmandu, and Teaching faculty at Department of Environmental Science, GoldenGate International College, Kathmandu. He is member of Graduate Student Volunteer Committee, Quaternary Paleoecology (QP) Seminar Series, University of Minnesota, Organizer, 4th International Conference of Asian Dendrochronological Association, member of Tree Ring Society of Nepal, Kathmandu, Nepal Environmental Society, Kathmandu, Environmental Graduates in Himalaya, Kathmandu and executive member of Organization for Social and Environmental Concern, Kathmandu. Mr. Udya received honors include AEGIS Conference Travel Fund, Carolyn Crosby Award, The Graduate School, University of Minnesota, and NSF Participant Award, ISO-CAMP.
