Tayel Mahmoud El-Hasan

Prof. Tayel M. El-Hasan; a professor in geochemistry, he received his B. Sc. in Geology from the Yarmouk University, Jordan in 1987 and M.Sc. in Geology from the University of Jordan, Jordan, 1992. Finally, he received his Ph. D. in Geochemistry Ore Deposits from Tsukuba University, Japan in 1999. Since then he joined the Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science; Mu'tah University. His activities were teaching undergraduate students the geology & environmental courses. He taught graduate students in many other universities in Jordan and in Saudi Arabia as a visiting professor. Besides that, he conducted several types of research on the natural resources geochemical characteristics such as the manganese, iron, phosphate, oil shale, Tripoli, and Dead Sea black mud. And he executed several studies on the field of environmental geochemistry. Therefore he did a lot of researches on the chemical pollutants on soil, street dust, plants, lichens and suspended and settled dry deposition.

Prof. El-Hasan; did participate and executed many research project in climate change, the first was supported nationally from SRF, it was concentrated on tracing the climate change in Jordan using the GIS techniques the results was published as cited below. The second project dealt with water resources and climate change monitoring in vulnerable areas in Jordan such as Dead Sea and Jordan River. The monitoring was through using state of art real-time motoring stations and command center for accelerating the decision making process. This project was done in partnership with Canadian colleagues and financed by NATO. Now our research center (PFC) is execution the first attempts in the Middle East region for Co-digestion of sludge and food waste in Methane production in southern Jordan.
