Dr. Shaukat Ali is a dedicated academician and researcher with expertise in Water Resources Management, Environmental Toxicology and health assessment, and Climate Change. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences at Karakoram International University (KIU), Pakistan, where he has been a key contributor since 2012. Dr. Ali has played multiple leadership roles, as a Chairperson of the Depatment, where he spearheaded curriculum development, research initiatives, and overall departmental growth. He is the Founding Section Editor of the Journal of Mountain Area Research, committed to promoting high-impact studies on mountain ecosystems. Additionally, he established the Climate Change Studies Program and Climate Summer School, fostering interdisciplinary research and policy dialogue on climate resilience.
Dr. Ali's key contributions include the publication of over 80 research papers in reputed journals and the successful acquisition of competitive research funding from national bodies like HEC and the Pakistan Science Foundation, as well as international collaborators. He leads graduate and postgraduate courses and supervise research in environmental science field, blending theoretical knowledge with practical, field-based learning. His global engagement is evident through his tenure as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Oregon, USA and his ongoing collaborations with international institutions.
