Dr. Shashank Shekhar Solankey is currently working as Assistant Professor-cum-Jr. Scientist (Horticulture: Vegetables & Floriculture) at Bihar Agricultural University, India. He obtained his Ph.D. in Agriculture from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. He also worked as Senior Research Fellow and Research Associate at Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi. His area of expertise includes Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi Characterization and Management of Genetic Diversity of Different Vegetable Crops, Different Aspects of Hybrid Technology in Vegetable Crops Including Male Sterility, Development, Management and Monitoring Different Aspects of Vegetable Science Including Micro-Level Planning, Breeding and Seed Production Approaches for Different Tropical and Sub-Tropical Vegetable Crops, Management of Open-Pollinated and Hybrid Seed Production Technology in Different Vegetable Crops, and Human Resource Development and Management in Vegetable Science with Special Reference to Vegetable Breeding. He was received Best poster presentation award, UGC Research Fellowship during Ph.D. program, and awarded by Pratishtha Certificate as secured 2nd rank in the class during B. Sc. He is member of Indian Society of Vegetable Science, IIVR, Varanasi, Bihar Horticulture Society, BAU, Bihar, and International Society for Noni Science, Perungudi, Chennai. He has published 10 research papers in reputed journal, 1 review paper, 1 proceeding, 1 book chapter, 2 popular articles and 28 abstracts contributed as author/co-author.
