Biography

Dr. Vinayagamurthy Balamurugan is currently working as Senior Scientist at Indian Council of Agricultural Research, India. He obtained his Ph.D. in Veterinary Virology from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, India. He is more than 10 years research experience in the field of Veterinary Microbiology including Animal Cell Culture Techniques and various Serological Diagnostic Techniques for Diagnosis of Infectious Viral Diseases, Molecular Virology, Immunology, Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering/ Recombinant Vaccines/ Designing / Recombinant Antigen production and Testing. As a faculty member of Veterinary Virology, IVRI at Deemed University, he has been extensively involving in Post Graduate Teaching since 2003 and involved as a Member of Advisory Committee for three Ph.D. and three M.V.Sc., scholars and guided Two M.V.Sc., student as Chairman. He is having more than five years in experience of teaching and training at the Post Graduate Level in the Veterinary Virology subject. He has successfully completed 15 research projects, three as Principal Investigator and ten as Collaborator. At present he is handling four research projects [two projects as principal Investigator and two projects as Co-PI (collaborator)]. So far, he has published more than 60 research articles in reputed international and national journal with more than 10 review articles in the areas of research field. He is life member of Indian Virological Society (IVS), Indian Association of Microbiologists, Immunologists and Specialists in Infectious Diseases, Indian Society for Veterinary Immunology and Biotechnology (ISVIB), Tamil Nadu Veterinary Council, Indian Veterinary Council, and Annual membership-2009 in Indian veterinary Journal. He is also acting as a Sectional Editor (Veterinary Virology) in Indian Journal of Virology-INJV is co-published by Springer since 2010 and globally distributed. He is also serving as reviewer in some of the reputed National and international Journals such as Journal of Virological Methods, Tropical Animal Health and Production, Journal of Biotechnology, Virological Sinica, Veterinary Immnology and Immunobiology, and so on.
