Biography

Dr. Seema Akbar is currently working as Assistant Director at RRIUM, Srinagar. She has completed her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Kanpur University, India. She has active academic collaborations with different departments of the University of Kashmir in Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Centre for Research for Development, Pharmacy and Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Srinagar branch. She has supervised 5 PhDs and 9 M.Phil students. She also attended number of workshops and seminars. Dr. Seema received honors includes Scientist of the Year Award 2006, Fellow of Linnaean Society, London, Bharat Jyoti Award, Best Citizen Of India Award, Eminent Scientist of the Year 2009 Award, and Leading Scientist of The World 2009. She is fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry, UK, Society of Biodiversity and Associate of Society of Toxicologic Pathology, Reston, USA, and member of 16 professional academic bodies. She is Editor in Chief for Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health Sciences, Co-Editor in Chief, Current Research in Biological Sciences, Associate Editor for Bioinfo Organic Chemistry, and member of editorial board for number of journals. She is also serving as reviewer for Asian Journal of Alternative Medicine, China, African Journal of Traditional, Complimentary and Alternative Medicine, Ethno botany Research and Applications, Research in Environment and Life Science, and Toxicology and Environmental Chemistry. She successfully completed 6 research projects as principal investigator and co-investigator. She has published 43 research articles in international journals contributed as author/co-author.
