Biography

Dr. Ashok Kumar Pandey is currently working as Scientist G at Forest Research Institute, Dehradun. He has obtained his PhD in Chemistry from Lucknow University, Lucknow, India. Previously he was appointed as Scientist SC at Zoological Survey of India, Hyderabad, Scientist SD, ICFRE RFRI, Jorhat, and Scientist D at ICFRE CFRHRD, Chhindwara, Scientist E, and Scientist F at ICFRE TFRI, Jabalpur. He has published 5 books, 16 brochure/bulletins, 15 book chapters, 88 research papers in journals, and 12 popular articles contributed as author/co-author. He also received training from different national and international institutes. He also attended 96 seminar, symposia, conferences, and workshop and performed presentations. Dr. Ashok Kumar has received Gold Medal for securing First Position in M.Sc. He is also member of academic societies such as Flavor and Fragrance Association of India, Society for Promotion of Tropical Biodiversity, Society of Tropical Forestry Scientists, S.F.R.I, Jabalpur, and Medicinal and aromatic plants association of India. He is Associate Editor for Research Journal of Forestry, Asian Journal of Plant Sciences, International Journal of Pharmacology, and regional editor for Asian Journal of Biochemistry, member of editorial board in National Journal of Biofuels, Journal of Tropical Forestry, Indian Journal of Tropical Biodiversity, World Applied Sciences Journal and reviewer for Pharmacgnosy magazine. Dr. Ashok Kumar also devoted to the research on Non-Timber Forest Produce (NTFPs) including Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs) and contributed significantly in the area of Conservation, Cultivation, Quality Evaluation, Value Addition, Sustainable Harvesting and their Sustainable Utilization. Currently, he is working on identification of Superior Germplasm of Medicinal Plants for quality production of Raw Material on Sustainable Basis and Livelihood Generation. He also handled 17 research projects as Principal Investigator.
