Biography

Dr. K. Vinoth Kumar working as an Professor in Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at New Horizon College of Engineering, Bengaluru. He received his Master of Technology Degree in Power Electronics and Drives (University Rank Holder) from Vellore Institute of Technology University, Vellore in 2008 and Ph.D Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences University, Coimbatore in 2017. He is having 12 years of teaching as well as research experience and his research area includes Condition monitoring of electrical machines, Signal and Model Based Techniques, Soft computing techniques in Power electronics applications, Neuro-Fuzzy Computing, Computational based classification for breast cancer, Photonic Crystal Fiber and Renewable Energy. He has published 58 research papers in reputed international journals as well as 53 papers in National and International conferences, 13 Textbooks, Six Book Chapters and filled two Indian patents and One International Patent. He has authored the 13 Textbooks in the area like Basic Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Neural Networks and Fuzzy Logic, Soft Computing, Special Electrical Machines, Power Electronics, Simulation of Power Electronics Circuits by reputed John Wiley and Sons, Dhanpat Rai Publishing company Pvt Ltd, Kataria and Sons publications and Nirali Prakashan Pvt Ltd, Pune. He has received grants from the funding agencies like CSIR, MNRE, IEEE and organized many workshops, seminars, guest lectures and two IEEE sponsored IEEE xplore international conferences. He is an active participant in various International seminars and workshops. He has delivered lectures on in various workshops and seminars as well as guided 20 UG and 16 PG Student projects and three international student projects from ENIT (National Engineering School of Tunis), Amirkabir University Iran, Kasetsart University Thailand. He has received Best Performance Merit Scholarship award from VIT University, Best Academics and Research Award from various Institutions. He is an Editorial Board Member and reviewer for Elsevier, Wiley and IEEE Transactions Journals and other Scopus Indexed Journals. He is an active member in IEEE, ISTE, IET, IAENG, IACSIT, ACM and Automotive Testing Technology International, USA.
