Biography

Dr. Abul Salam is currently working as Assistant Professor at Department of Geography and Urban Planning, CHSS, UAE University, Al Ain, UAE. He has completed his Ph.D. in Human Geography from Jamia Millia University New Delhi, India. Previously he was appointed as Lecturer at Department of Geography, Jamia Millia, University New Delhi, Ministry of Education, Asmara, Eritrea, N.E Africa, and Senior Lecturer, and Acting Head at Department of Geography, Environmental Science and Planning, University of Swaziland. He has supervised 9 postgraduate thesis. His main area of research interest focuses on Human Geographer interested in Socio-Economic and perspectives on human drivers of environmental change and sustainable rural resource development and management. Dr. Salam received honors includes Challenges Faced by Working Women in Al Ain City Awarded best paper in Hong Kong 6th International Conference on Business Economic Social Science & Humanities, and Academic Scholarship Awarded by International Society for Urban Health (ISUH) New York. He has completed 9 research projects. He has published 12 conference proceeding/chapters in book, 20 research articles in journals, 3 research projects, and 18 papers in conference/workshops contributed as author/co-author. He is member of Water Environment Federation the water quality people, In -Depth Associated Member, In- Depth Network, Accra, Ghana, member of Organization for Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa, Second National Representative for International Organization for Biotechnology and Bioengineering, Renewable Energy Association of Swaziland, and life member of Indian National Cartographic Association. He is also serving as member of editorial board and reviewer for several journals.
