Md. Ohidur Zaman is a social researcher as well as an academician. Currently, he works at the Department of Sociology of the University of Barishal, Bangladesh.

In 1989, he born in Noakhali, Bangladesh. He started his primary education in Dhaka and completed public examinations SSC and HSC in 2004 and 2006 from Motijheel Model high Schoola and college and Adamjee Cantonment College, respectively. In 2008, he started his Bachelor studies in the Department of Sociology at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. From the same department, he completed his research master's degree. During his student life, he worked with my research and social programs as well as after the completion of his formal education he worked with some international NGOs like UNICEF, IUCN, etc.

In 2015, he started his professional career with Light Castel Partners, a business data firm. After just a month, he joined the department of sociology at Bangladesh University, a university of Dhaka. In 2016, he joined his current, the University of Barishal as a Lecturer. After that, in 2019 he promoted Assistant Professor of the same department and still works there on the position. In his professional life, he has supervised many research projects and four Master Thesis Projects. In addition, he has published 12 research articles and 2 international conference papers. Currently, he is conducting several research projects especially two projects funded by the University of Barishal.

In early 2020, he awarded the Doctoral Fellowship offered by the Chines Government Scholarship Council and waiting for joining at Department of Sociology at Shanghai University, China in September 2020 to start doctoral study.
