Biography

Dr. Shahana Afrose Chowdhury is working as the Research Chemist at the Biogas Program of Kazi Shahid Foundation (KSF), prior to this she was working as an Associate Professor cum Researcher at the Center for Suatainable Development (CSD), University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), which are sister concerns of Gemcon Group. She worked as a Research Associate at the Trace Analysis Facilities (TAF), University of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada on air pollutants analysis, a collaborative research on street food contamination with heavy metals from food wrapped by used paper was done with Institute of Fundamental Studies (IFS), Kandy, Sri Lanka. Previously, Dr. Chowdhury was an Assistant Professor of Environmental Chemistry in Asian University for Women (AUW), Chittagong and Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), Dhaka. She also worked as a Teaching Associate during her Post-Graduate studies in Australia.
She has completed her PhD in Green Chemistry from Monash University, Australia and a Research Master’s degree on food additive analysis from RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. Her B.Sc. (Hon’s) and M.Sc. was completed in Chemistry from University of Dhaka.
Her Research interests are environmental issues, green chemistry, medicinal chemistry, sustainable energy, food safety, disaster management, waste management, etc.
