Professional Summary

Dr. He’s lab studies Obesity, Fatty Liver Disease (FLD), Liver injury, and their progression into steatohepatitis and liver cancer, along with Tumor Immunotherapy. Currently, his research focuses on stress response signaling in the regulation of inflammation and metabolism, and their roles in the pathogenesis of cancer, while also developing new approaches for cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. The lab employs diverse cutting-edge biological techniques to elucidate the molecular mechanism underlying metabolic disorders, identify new drug targets and small molecules as well as next-generations therapies, and strives to limit the gap from basic medical research to clinical application for the benefit of human health.

Dr. He's research has published about 40 SCI papers, and he has made a series of original discoveries, and as the first author or the corresponding author he has published research papers in Journal of Hepatology (2023, IF: 33), Journal of Hepatology (2020, IF: 25.1), Pharmacological research (2024, IF:10.5), Cancer and Metastasis Reviews (2023, IF: 9.2), Journal of Biological Chemistry, and Carcinogenesis. Among them, 9 ESI/WOS highly cited papers and 3 ESI/WOS hot papers. Dr. He’s research have been cited more than 7,000 times, with an average citation over 200 times per article. Dr. He has presented his research at international conferences, including the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences Superfund Research Program Annual Meeting (USA), the American Biophysical Society Annual Meeting, the American Experimental Biology Annual Meeting. In addition, Dr. He has been invited to serve as an invited reviewer for journals like Science Advances, Cancer Research, Cell Research, and Journal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer more than 500 times. He has also been invited to serve as Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor, or editorial boards of BMC Biology, eGastroenterology, MedMat, Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, Biomedicine. Dr. He has been consecutively listed in the world Top 2% Scientists by Elsevier/Stanford University in fields of oncology, biochemistry and molecular biology, and clinical medicine.
