Biography

Dr. Mohamed Azmi Bin Ahmad Hassali is currently working as Professor at Discipline of Social and Administrative Pharmacy, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Minden Penang, Malaysia. He has completed his PhD in Pharmacy from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. Previously he was appointed as Trainee Pharmacist at Teluk Intan District Hospital, Perak, Lecturer at UM, Kuala Lumpur, Tutor at Monash University, Australia, and Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor and deputy Dean at USM, Penang. His main area of research interest focuses on Social Pharmacy, Pharmacy Practice and Public Health Pharmacy. He has published 16 books, 5 book/monograph, 343 papers in journals, 3 chapters in book, and 99 proceedings contributed as author/co-author. He also attended 209 national and international conferences and performed oral/poster presentations. He has completed 28 funded research projects as research and co-researcher. He successfully supervised/co-supervised 32 PhD thesis, 17 masters students, and 5 undergraduate final projects. Dr. Azmi was received Top Research Scientist Award by Akademi Sains Malaysia. He is also serving as member of editorial board and reviewer for number of national and international journals. Dr. Azmi is Registered Pharmacist with the Malaysian Pharmacy Board, Council Member of Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society, member of Malaysian Cancer Society, International WHO’s WHO Historical Society, International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology, International Society for Pharmacovigilance, International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), International Society of Pharma-coeconomics and Outcomes Research, Young Scientist Network of The Academy of Sciences Malaysia and life member of Penang Hospice Society.
