Jonathan Tanganyika

Dr. Jonathan Tanganyika is a scientist and researcher who is currently a Senior Lecturer inAnimal Production and Meat Science, Bunda College Campus of the Lilongwe University of Agricultureand Natural Resources (LUANAR). Academically, Dr. Tanganyika has a PhD in Animal Scienceobtained from the University of Pretoria, Republic of South Africa. He holds a Master of ScienceandBachelor of Science Degrees in Animal Science from Bunda College of the Lilongwe Universityof Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR), Malawi. Before joining Bunda College he went totheNatural Resources College where he studied Veterinary Science for two years. He has alsoattendedvarious short courses to boost his specialisation. Carrier wise, Dr. Tanganyika worked at a fieldAssistant Veterinary Officer (AVO) in the government for four years, as an Assistant Technician, Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Animal Science related courses at Bunda College Campus (2000todate). Apart from teaching students, Dr. Tanganyika has collaborated and conducted researchinhisfield and coordinated both local and international funded research projects. His focus is to carryout more research in the areas of Meat Hygiene, Animal Behaviour and Welfare, Animal Healthandproduction of nonconventional livestock species.
