Biography

C. Iwanette du Preez is a senior researcher at the Multidisciplinary Research Centre (MRC), University of Namibia (UNAM). She is a PhD graduate from the UNAM Department of Biological Sciences. Together with Dr. Mumbengegwi, she leads the Drug Discovery and Development Programme which conducts research on documentation and valorisation of indigenous medicinal plants. Her main research focus is on the safety and effectiveness of medicinal plants as complementary/alternative medicines for malaria, cancer, diabetes and microbial infections in Namibia using cell-based and small animal models.
