Almajiri Leonard Wilson is a distinguished Nigerian educator, political figure, and community leader committed to public service and youth development. Born on September 12, in Zing Local Government Area of Taraba State, he has dedicated his life to contributing meaningfully to his community and nation.
His educational journey reflects unwavering dedication to personal growth. He began at Model Nursery and Primary School, Zing, before proceeding to Government Secondary School, Zing. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Political Science with Second Class Upper honours and IJMBE certificate from Adamawa State University, Mubi. Currently, he studies at Taraba State University, Jalingo. In 2025, he obtained a Professional Diploma in Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and holds a Diploma in Computer acquired in 2006.
Throughout his career, Almajiri has demonstrated exceptional leadership. As a three-time House of Representatives candidate for Zing, Yorro, and Jalingo Federal Constituency, he has shown remarkable political commitment across three election cycles, representing APGA in 2023 and 2024, and ACPN in 2019.
In academia, he serves as Lecturer III at the College of Education, Zing. His appointment as Senior Special Assistant on Financial Audit to the Executive Governor of Taraba State in 2025 underscores his recognized competence in public service.
His commitment to youth development is evident through his involvement with the National Youth Council of Nigeria, where he serves as Vice Chairman for Zing branch and Assistant Secretary at the State level. His scouting journey spans from District Scout Commissioner to Taraba State Training Commissioner and currently as National Headquarters Commissioner for Programmes and Operations. His spiritual commitment is notable, having served as Diocesan President of the Block Rosary Crusade, Jalingo Diocese, from 2010 to 2018.
His contributions have been recognized with the "Future Leader of Integrity in Africa" award from PRESS CLUB ADSU in 2018 and the "Youth Achievers Award" in 2025.
Speaking fluent English, Mumuye, and Hausa, Almajiri continues building bridges across communities. When not engaged in public service, he enjoys reading, making new friends, scouting, and listening to news. A man of faith and integrity, he remains focused on contributing his unique talents to institutions shaping Nigeria's future.
