Professional Summary

Dr. Ifeanyi Emmanuel Uzochukwu is an environmental scientist, ecotoxicologist, and data analyst whose work bridges aquatic ecology, environmental pollution, animal science, and quantitative data analysis. With more than a decade of experience in research, teaching, and scientific consultancy, he has developed a multidisciplinary profile that combines field and laboratory investigations with advanced statistical and spatial analysis.

He earned both his B.Agric. and M.Sc. degrees in Animal Science with distinction from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and completed his PhD in Environmental Sciences at the University of Debrecen in 2026, graduating summa cum laude. His doctoral research focused on the bioaccumulation and toxicological effects of anthropogenic contaminants, including microplastics, trace metals, pesticides, and persistent organic pollutants, in freshwater organisms. Among its key outcomes was the first multi-tissue assessment of microplastic contamination in burbot (Lota lota) from Hungary’s Tisza River, published in the Journal of Hazardous Materials, alongside studies advancing the understanding of pollution biomarkers and ecological risk in European freshwater ecosystems.

Before pursuing his doctorate, Dr. Uzochukwu served as a Lecturer in the Department of Animal Science at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he taught undergraduate courses, supervised student research, and conducted studies in animal and aquaculture nutrition, sustainable feed development, and applied environmental science. His academic and research experience reflects a sustained interest in linking scientific evidence to practical solutions in environmental management, food production, and ecosystem health.

Dr. Uzochukwu has authored more than 32 peer-reviewed journal articles, four book chapters, and over 36 conference papers and proceedings. His research has earned an H-index of 7 and more than 166 independent citations. He has presented his work at major international conferences, including AQUA 2024 and Aquaculture Europe 2023.

His technical expertise includes R, Python, QGIS, SPSS, and Stata, with particular strengths in statistical modelling, environmental risk assessment, geospatial analysis, and scientific communication. Currently based in Hungary, he is actively engaged in research and professional opportunities in environmental science, ecotoxicology, aquatic risk assessment, and environmental data analytics.
