Biography

Dr. Kirat Mohamed holds a position of Professor of Public Relations at Qatar University, Doha, Qatar, and Adjunct Lecturer at Northwestern University- Qatar. He earned his Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Indiana University, Bloomington, USA. He has remarkable record of professional leadership such as Chair Department of Communication, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at University of Algiers, Algeria, Assistant Professor at United Arab Emirates University, Al-Ain, UAE, Chair Department of Mass Communication, and Associate Professor at Al-Bayan University, Abu Dhabi, UAE, Chair Department of Mass Communication and Associate Professor at Ajman University of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi, UAE. He has successfully supervised 13 Masters thesis and 200 Bachelor students projects. Dr. Kirat has published 12 books, 6 book chapters as well as 24 research articles in journals contributed as author/co-author. He also delivered 67 presentations in conferences. He has completed 15 research projects. He is also serving as member of editorial board and advisory board in 14 journals. Dr. Kirat has reviewed articles, book chapters and promotion applications for various journals and institutions. Dr. Kirat received honors includes Qatar University Outstanding Media Contribution Award, University of Sharjah Award for Distinguished Faculty members in Scientific Research, Al-Owais Prize for Studies and Scientific Creation, Humanities, First Prize in Human and Social Sciences, 10th session, 2000, and Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research National Scholarship, 1981.
