Dr. Mohamad Kashef has over 30 years of professional practice, public service, and academic experiences. He has a diverse academic and professional background that integrates engineering practice, university teaching, and business entrepreneurship. He has led the planning, design and development of large scale urban regeneration projects in Canada, United States, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. Dr. Kashef is a registered Architect with the Ontario Association of Architects in Canada and has practiced architecture, urban planning and project management with some of the leading multinational consulting firms and construction companies. He has also assisted several cities in Canada and the United States in their preparation of downtown development and small business plans and urban design guidelines. Dr. Kashef has taught numerous courses and seminars and led studios and workshops in architecture, planning, urban design and historic preservation in Canadian, American, and UAE Universities. His research synthesizes architectural and urban planning knowledge and contributes to the literature of sustainable built environments that integrate unique architectural configurations with innovative technologies and green solutions. Dr. Kashef has served as a keynote/guest speaker in various conferences and events worldwide. His work at the Egyptian Antiquities Organization and involvement in the preservation and development of the Citadel District in Cairo earned him a nomination for International Awards in Islamic Architecture. In his current capacity as the Vice Chancellor and CEO of ALHOSN University in Abu Dhabi, Dr. Kashef contributes to the development of pioneering, globally accredited, academic programs that integrate global knowledge with contextual UAE vision. He has published 13 research articles in journals. In addition he is member of Ontario Association of Architects and Egyptian Syndicate of Engineers.
