Biography

Dr. Adel Al-Alawi is currently working as Associate Professor at Department of Management & Marketing College of Business, University of Bahrain, Bahrain. He obtained his PhD degree in Management Information from University of Leeds, Leeds, UK in 1991. Dr. Adel Al-Alawi received honors includes Green IT Website Award 2011, Government Excellence Award 2010, Certificate of Appreciation from Bahrain Information Technology Society (BITS), Judge Award in Bahrain Website Competition, Award in Management Information Systems, Excellence in Management Information Systems Award of the Husson University Alumni Association - Maine, USA, Award in Business Information Systems, Discover Bahrain Website Contests. His working experience includes Chairperson of Management Information Systems Department, Assistant Professor at University of Bahrain, and Associate Professor at Arabian Gulf University, Visiting Assistant Professor at Lebanese American University (LAU) and in American University of Beirut (AUB), Head of Business Studies Department, and Associate Professor at Royal University for Women. He has published 14 articles in journals as well as 13 papers in conferences as author/co-author. He is also member of conference program committee. He is serving as reviewer in journals. He is also supervising number of students. He is professional member of Association for Systems Management, Data Processing Management Association, Bahrain Information Technology Society, International Council for Computing in Education, the Society for Information Management, International Academy for Information Management. Information Systems Audit & Control Association, Bahrain Society for Training & Development, Information Systems Audit & Control Society, and Information Resources Management Association.
