Biography

Dr. Ghufran Ahmed Jassim is currently working as Assistant Professor at Department of Family Medicine and Public Health, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland-Medical University of Bahrain. She has completed her MBBS, MD in Medical Science from Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain, and Ph.D. in General Practice from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Bahrain. Previously she was appointed as Family Practice Residency Programme (FPRP) rotating resident at Salmaniya Medical Complex, Senior resident in Naim, A’ali and National Bank of Bahrain Health Centers, Lecturer at Department of Family and Community Medicine, Arabian Gulf University, Consultant Family Physician working in Shaikh Salman Health Center, Consultant Family Physician running a Well women clinic at King Hamad Hospital. Dr. Ghufran has published 9 research articles in journals. She is member of editorial board in Bahrain Medical Society Journal, and Austin Journal of Cancer and Clinical Research. Dr. Ghufran is also serving as professional member of Bahrain Medical Society, Family Physicians Society, Bahrain Cancer Society, Bahrain Irish Society, Organizing committee of the Medical Forum on health management and Organizing committee of the GCC medical education conference. Her main area of research interest focuses on Child and Women Health, Menopause, Breast Cancer, Periodic Women Screening, Osteoporosis and Behavioral Problems in Children, Chronic Illnesses e.g. Hypertension, Bronchial Asthma and Diabetes Mellitus, Evidence based Medicine, and Medical Education. Dr. Ghufran received honors includes Staff excellence award from Ministry of Labor, and long service award from RCSI Bahrain.
