Biography

Wisam Nabeel Ibrahim obtained his bachelor degree in medicine & surgery from Basra University, College of Medicine in 2005. After graduation he started his hospital internship among different hospitals in Basra & Thiqar Health directorate practicing medicine, surgery, pediatrics, gynecology and obstetrics, neurology, cardiology and other minor specialities. In 2007 He travelled to India joining a training course in ophthalmology in Apollo hospital in New Delhi for 6 months then he returned back to Iraq to practice medicine among governmental and private hospitals. In 2009 he was registered as a master degree postgraduate student at IIUM, Kulliyyah of Medicine by coursework & research. In 2011 he completed his master degree and joined the department of Basic Medical sciences in Kulliyyah of Nursing as an assistant Professor. During his carrier at IIUM he was lecturing undergraduate students about Human anatomy & Physiology in addition to pathology, Genetics, Biochemistry, immunology and health assessment. At the same time he started his research work on human genetic diseases. In 2013 he registered as a PhD candidate in KAHS, IIUM and continued his research work in cancer molecular biology. In 2015 he became the Head of BMS department till 2017. Now he is continuing his work as a lecturer and at the same time finalizing his PhD project.
