Dr. Madawa Nilupathi Chandratilake is currently working as Senior Lecturer in Medical Education, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, and Part-time Tutor at Centre for Medical Education, University of Dundee, UK. He has completed his PhD in Medical Education from University of Dundee, UK, and MBBS (Hons) from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Previously he was appointed as Research Assistant at Cancer control programme of the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka, Assistant Lecturer at Medical Education Development and Research Centre (MEDAR), Pre-registration House Officer at National Hospital of Sri Lanka and De Zoyza Hospital for Women, Colombo, Sri Lanka, Lecturer in Medical Education at Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka and Research Officer at Centre for Medical Education, University of Dundee, UK. He has completed 13 funded research projects as member of team. Dr. Madawa is also serving as President of elect of the Forum of Sri Lankan Medical Educationists (FOSME), member of Sri Lanka Medical Association, Association for the Studies of Medical Education (ASME), UK, MedEd World, online medical education community, Board of Study in Medical Education, Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, Forum for Sri Lankan Medical Educationalists and Convener of Medical Education Committee, Sri Lanka Medical Association. Dr. Madawa has published 29 research articles in journals, 3 book and book chapters, and 38 conference papers contributed as author/co-author. He is also acting as member of editorial board in Journal of Medical Research and Education and reviewer for Medical Education, Medical Teacher, BMC Medical Education, BMC Nursing, Medical Principles and Practice and Teaching and Learning in Medicine. He also participated as resource person in a number of workshops.
