Biography

Dr. Asher Fawwad holds a position of Associate Professor in Baqai Medical University, Karachi, Diabetes Specialist (Part time) in Baqai Institute of Diabetology & Endocrinology, Karachi, and currently involved in BIDE-WDF Type 1 Project as project Manager and Vice President in Diabetes in Asia Study Group. He has completed his PhD Biochemistry from Baqai Medical University in 2015, and M.B.B.S. from Nishtar Medical College Multan. Previously he was appointed as Physician in Medical Unit-IV at Nishtar Medical Hospital Multan, RMO (ICU) (Part time) in Remedial Center Karachi, and Assistant Professor in Baqai Medical University. He has published 57 research articles in journals contributed as author/co-author. He is also serving as Managing Editor in Journal of Diabetology, and Official Journal of Diabetes in Asia Study Group, Austin Journal of Endocrinology and Diabetes, and reviewer for Diabetes Care, Diabetes Research and Clinical Practices, Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences, Diabetic Medicine, Austin Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Primary Care Diabetes. He also delivered number of invited lectures. He is member of Council of management Diabetic Association of Pakistan DAP, and International Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Diabetes. He also attended number of international conferences and symposium. He got First position in M.PHIL (Biochemistry) from Baqai Medical University Karachi in 2006, and First position in Post Graduate Diploma.
