Biography

Dr. Abdullah Adil Ansari is currently working as Research Associate for 3 years at Uttar Pradesh Land Development Corporation (World Bank Project), Lucknow in association with IRSBB, Chennai, India. He completed his Ph.D. degree in Life Science-Zoology from Madras University. He assumed a faculty position in the University of Guyana with the finding of the Faculty of Natural Sciences in Jan 2005. One of his responsibilities was to sit up a Dept. of Biology at the Faculty. At the University he has served as a Lecturer for period of three years. During this period he took up teaching assignments in the area of Vertebrate Zoology, parasitology, animal physiology and conducted research relating to application of vermitechnology in organic solid waste management and its extension in field. Then he was appointed in 2009 as the Senior Lecturer and Head of Zoology Unit in the Department Biological Sciences, Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero, Kebbi State, Nigeria and served up to period of two years and then was appointed Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biology, University of Guyana. He also served as HOD Biology from 2012 for period for one year and subsequently took over as Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences. Since 1998 his research has focused on several issues including vermin technology, soil biology and ecology, land reclamation, organic farming, organic solid waste management, earthworm taxonomy, soil microbiology and environmental pollution. He teaches several courses in Biology at the University and is responsible for supervision of research at undergraduate, post graduate and Ph.D. levels. He has several publications in Journals of repute.
