Biography

Dr. M. B. Viswanathan is currently working as a Programme Coordinator, School of Life Sciences, and Professor & Head, Department of Plant Science & Coordinator: DST FIST; UGC: SAP, Innovative Program - M. Sc. Biodiversity and Bioprospecting & Centre for Research and Development of Siddha- Ayurveda Medicines (CRDSAM), India. He completed his Ph. D. in Botany from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. He has received many awards /honors including, Best Oral Presentation, National Seminar on Advances in Plant Sciences, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, F. E. B. Society of Ethno botanists, Lucknow, F. I. A. T, Indian Association for Angiosperm Taxonomy, Calicut, and Best Paper Award, 9th Indian Botanical Conference, Madras. He is member of many national and international societies/boards. Further into his services, he has performed his duties as referee/reviewer for (31) journals. He has completed 12 research projects. He has contributed in (65) conferences. He has published (70) articles in national and international journals.
