Biography

Prof (Dr.) Shiburaj S. is educated in the field of Plant Sciences (Mycology as elected subject) and has working experience in Microbial bioprospecting since 1995. Currently working as Professor in Department of Botany, University of Kerala. He was the Principal Scientist and Heading the Division of Microbiology at JNTBGRI. He has more than 20 years of experience in the area of microbial biotechnology and molecular microbiology and has published several papers in reputed national and international journals. He obtained his doctoral degree from the University of Kerala, India and did his Postdoctoral studies with Prof. K. Dharmalingam at Genetic Engineering Research Unit, School of Biotechnology, MKU and also at Prof. Tom MacRae's lab, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He is also served as a visiting Professor to University of Coahulia, Saltillo, MEXICO.
