Biography

Working in the area of Plant Biotechnology since 1985. Initial work - cloning & genetic manipulation of Indian medicinal plants & sugarcane including the production of artificial seeds. Current interests - microbial enzymes suited for industrial use, characterization of microbial & higher plant (legumes) genetic diversity using molecular markers and physiology/biochemistry of stress exposed plants
