Biography

Dr. Gulshan Mahajan is currently working as Sr. Agronomist/Professor at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India. He has obtained his PhD in Agronomy from same University. He is having 7 years experiences in Resource Conservation Technologies and Weed control and 14 years experience of teaching UG and PG courses in Agronomy. Previously he was appointed as Research Fellow, Assistant Professor/Agronomist, and Associate Professor at PAU, Ludhiana. He also served as IRRI-India Resident Fellow at International Rice Research Institute, Philippines, and work in Weed Ecology and management of aerobic rice with Dr. David Johnson (Weed Scientist), CESD, IRRI. Dr. Gulshan received honors includes NAAS Associateship, Fellow of Indian Society of Weed Science, and Best AICRIP Agronomy Centre Award, ICAR, Indian Institute of Rice Research, Hyderabad. He is also serving as editor for 2 international journals such as Journal of Crop Improvement, Journal of Agriculture Science. & Technology and Indian Journal in Agronomy, Indian Journal of Weed Science. He has guided 4 MSc students. He has significant contribution in evolving 14 production technologies (agronomic recommendations in package of practices of PAU and widely used by farmers of Punjab) and release of 14 rice cultivars and 2 sugarcane cultivars in Punjab (Certificate attached). He has published 90 research articles in journals, 51 extension papers, 2 books and 6 bulletins including two chapters in Advances in Agronomy contributed as author/co-author.
