Dr. R. Shekhar holds a position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science & Engineering- ACED, Alliance University, Bangalore. He earned his Ph.D. in Data Mining from M.S. University, India. Previously he was appointed as Lecturer at Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Basaveshwara College of Engineering, Sr Lecturer at Department of Computer science & Engineering, Basava Academy of Engineering, Affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, and Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Dr. Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Mahaswami College of Engineering. Dr. Shekhar received honors includes awarded as Best Faculty of the Year from Dr. Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Mahaswami College of Engineering, Best Professor Award in the academic 2011-12 which was organized by ASDF & ICCA Awards, and Award of Excellence by National Robotics Championship India for being the Chief. Dr. Shekhar is member of Indian Society for Technical Education-MISTE, India, International Association of Engineering & Technology for Skill Development, New Delhi, International Association of Engineers- MIAENG, Hong Kong, member of International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology- MIACSIT, Singapore, Computer Science Teachers Association, New York, World Association of Science and Engineering- MWASE, Universal Association of Computer, Electronic Engineering- AMUACEE, Academic Open Internet Journal- AOI, The Society of Digital Information and Wireless Communications, and member of Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning-MACUL, Lansing. He is also serving as editor and reviewer for journals such as Editor for the International Journal of Emerging Technology & Advanced Engineering IJETAE, Editor for the International Journal of Information Technology & Computer Science and reviewer for International Journal IJCSIS in Pittsburgh-USA, International Journal CSC in Malaysia, International Journal IJARE in India, VC-Technology, and International Journal IJSER in France. He has completed 7 funded research projects. He also attended number of national and international conferences and workshops. He also delivered many invited lectures at various colleges. His main area of research focuses on Data Mining, Image Processing, and Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Shekhar has 3 publications in journals.
