Biography

Dr. Sujeet Pratap Singh is currently working on Sugarcane Genomics and Molecular Breeding since 2000 in Sugarcane Research Institute (U P Council of Sugarcane Research) Shahjahanpur, UP, India. Dr. Singh constructed sugarcane genetic linkage map using microsatellite markers covering 50% sugarcane genome. He developed SSR markers to tag red rot moderately resistance and susceptible sugarcane variety at early seedling stage. Dr. Singh developed more SSR markers for high and low sugar content in sugarcane and published in Euphytica, Sugar Tech journal. Dr Singh has received several awards and attended many national and international conferences. He has published more than 31 research articles in International journal and some of have high impact. Some papers were cited by many researchers. More than 10 nucleotide sequences have also been submitted in GenBank. He was involved in release of two promising sugarcane varieties.
